More detailed review ↴

This fence fits saws with 27-inch tables easily. The rail system includes ball bearings that make adjusting the fence a lot smoother. When it slides in and out, the process is extremely smooth letting you cut better. If you want a fence that lets you make precise cuts, this is the one for you.

To add to its usability, this table saw fence comes with fine positioning knobs on each side. No matter which hand you work with, you can easily make cleaner cuts. Table saw fences can be tricky to install. But not this one.

It does not require drilling or any adjustments. This comes as a real treat for woodworkers.

On the downside, it is a great product but it costs a lot. The main reason behind this is because Shop Fox makes high-quality products, this fence system is one of them.

If you’re a professional woodworker, think about how much you’re willing to invest. As for DIYers, simply go for the cheaper options as you don’t need such an expensive fence if you’re only going to use it a few times.

Pros:

  • Compatibility
  • Comes With Fine Positioning Knobs
  • Easy to Install

Cons:

  • Expensive

2. Delta 36-T30T3

Delta, 36-T30T3, 30 in. DELTA® T3 Fence System

  • Three-Point Locking
  • Durable
  • Compatible

More detailed review ↴

With this fence, you don’t need to worry about the saw is parallel to it. It comes with unique three-point locking that keeps the fence fixed right as you adjusted it. The twin hairline pointers assure that the fence is parallel to the blade at all times.

This also provides super-accurate cuts when using the table saw.

Most table fences are only compatible with table saws of the same brand. However, the Delta T3 Fence System is a versatile solution that can be paired with many table saws.

You get various features such as easy gliding, steel tube fence body capable of making quick and precise cuts. Its sturdiness is what caught our attention. The fence is made using high-quality aluminum. The steel tubes are strong yet extremely easy to use.

On the downside, just like the Shop Fox fence system, this is another premium table saw fence. You will end up spending almost as much as you’ll spend for a compact table saw itself.

For this reason, we don’t recommend beginners or DIYers to invest in such an expensive fence. It is a better fit for professional and more seasoned woodworkers.

Pros:

  • Three-point Locking System
  • Extremely Compatible
  • Durable

Cons:

  • Expensive

3.Vega U26

Vega is a trusted name when it comes to power tools and accessories. This particular table saw fence is currently among the most popular fences in the market. It is strongly built and features a great rip size.

You can use this fence with many table saws. It comes with front and rear rails that make it easier to mount.

Although it may need some adjustments, you can mount it to any table saw. If you have a drill machine handy to drill a few holes, this is a great table saw fence.

With this model, you get a rip size of 26 inches to the right and 8 inches to the left. The spacing between different rip sizes is surprisingly enough for comfortably making rips of different sizes.

On the downside, Vega is a premium brand. If you want a great product, they should be your go-to manufacturer. You’ll get sturdy, efficient power tools for sure. But you can also expect to spend a lot in the process.

Pros:

  • Very Popular

  • Made for DeWalt DW745

More detailed review ↴

No list for the best cutting tools or accessories is complete without mentioning DeWalt. It is one of the staple American brands every woodworker is familiar with.

The company has been manufacturing high-quality products for generations now. Most job sites will have a DeWalt power tool.

DeWalt is a household brand for a reason. They deliver affordable products that get the job done. Consider top brands like Vega or Shop Fox, they provide premium products at very expensive rates. DeWalt, on the other hand, is a lot cheaper.

Replacing the old fence on the DW745 table saw becomes easier with this kit. You get everything that is needed to swap the fence quickly. No adjustments or new drill holes are needed whatsoever. It’s like simply fitting a square peg in a square hole.

On the downside, this is not compatible with any other table saw. If you’re looking for a versatile option, this is not it. You can only use it to replace an old DeWalt DW745 Table Saw fence.

While the fence was constructed using lightweight aluminum, we weren’t quite impressed with its quality. The clamp ends included provided no robustness at all.

Pros:

  • Reliable Manufacturer
  • Affordable
  • Easy and Quick Installation

Cons:

  • Limited Application
  • Poor Quality

Buyers Guide to Pick the Best Fence System For Table Saw

Many elements go into the making of a reliable table saw fence. The priorities, although, may differ from person to person.

Each table saw has a different fence system. Some of these systems are good and some are bad. If you want a better fence system then you have to manually upgrade it by buying a new one. If you are looking for the best fence system for table saws then check our list.

What are the things you should look for to find the best table saw fences?

If you’re confused, we’ve listed the most vital table saw fence features that you simply can’t miss.

Rigidity

The whole point of using a table saw is to provide stability when you cut through the sheet or object. It must remain rigid whenever in use. If the table saw fence keeps moving, you can say goodbye to making clean, accurate cuts.

The material of the fence plays an important role to maintain rigidity. If it’s made using lightweight material, the fence is prone to moving around.

Instead of providing safety, you’re putting yourself at risk while using such unstable fences. The most reliable material for a table saw fence is steel. It is solid, heavy, and very unlikely to warp.

However, steel is only used on heavy-duty professional saws. Most fences you come across are crafted from aluminum or a mixture of steel and aluminum. A good rule of thumb is to check the product’s weight. If it’s not weighty, you’re better off without it.

Installation

Some table saw fences are really good but their installation process is tedious.

Also, check the fence’s compatibility with your table saw. Finding a duo that works perfectly together without drilling a few holes is next to impossible.  So don’t shy away from drilling holes to stabilize the fence on your table saw. However, if you find a better table saw based on your requirements in terms of compatibility, it’s always a better investment.

Making adjustments is not easy to do and should be done only by experienced professionals. For beginners, a table saw fence with a front clamp may be a better option. It allows the fence to fit most table saws.

If you find one with a T-bar, that’s a bonus. The T-bar improves rigidity preventing the fence from moving while working.

Usability

Besides being easy to set up, the table saw fence must be easy to use too. If the fence takes an hour to set up and then needs more adjustments between jobs, it’s not a great sign. You’ll end up wasting more time than you spend working. This is not very practical especially when you’re on a time constraint.

The learning curve plays an equally important role in the buying process too. How soon can you start working and get crisp clean cuts using the table fence?

If it comes with a long learning curve, get a less complex one.

Rip Size

This is perhaps the most variable factor in table saw fences. Before buying a table fence, it is a good idea to decide what you’ll use it for. Once that becomes clear, you’ll have a better vision of what you expect from the table fence.

When cutting a lengthy sheet, you’ll need the table fence to extend on the rails of the saw. Make sure you get a saw that can be easily adjusted. This lets you make precise cuts on larger materials without much effort.

Table Saw Size

Where most fences come with a span of 27 inches, some gems reach up to 50 inches. This is not surprising as table saws come in various sizes. Naturally, the table saw fences need to adjust to serve the larger models.

The size of the table saw is an important factor when you’re picking a table saw fence. Based on the space you have at hand, it is best to invest in the right-sized table saw and then get a fence that goes with it.

Professional cabinet table saws give you the widest span. But if you are short of space and need to travel to the worksites, get a smaller more portable table saw.

Type of Table Saw Fence

This does not affect the table saw’s cutting capabilities. Yet, the type of table saw fence can make your work a lot easier.

Most table fences come with simple gauges to help you with the measurements. Some models, on the other hand, have digital readouts. These provide accurate measurements on the go using the “Precise Fraction Technology”.

You can either get a manual table fence or a digital one. It solely depends on your preference.

With that said, you’ve all the information you need to buy the best table saw fence yourself. If you need help, the five table saws listed above are all great.

Now let’s answer some of the frequently asked questions table fence buyers ask when or after buying a table saw fence.

Q: How can I increase the fence’s accuracy?

Increasing the table saw’s accuracy by using a fence is a common practice among professionals. To do so, simply follow these instructions.

Setting the fence at 2 inches, cut a three-quarter inch thick fiberboard into a 20-inch long strip. Cut this strip into five 5 inch pieces. Stack them side by side and if it measures 10 inches, you have an accurate table saw fence.

Q: How can I ensure that the fence is straight during installation?

You’ll need a straight edge to check the alignment of the table saw fence. Using the straight edge, check if the front and back of the fence align with the miter slot. If they don’t, the fence is not straight. Readjust it for the best results.
