If you are looking for a tool bag that has a waterproof base but that at the same time has enough space for most of your tools then the WORKPRO 16″  is your go-to. This tool bag comes with 30 sturdy pockets that are inside of the bag, 10 are outside, and 6 other pockets that are specially made for pliers, screwdrivers, etc.  But that’s not all.

This bag also features an open-mouth design. The open mouth is basically an open space at the center of the bag where you can put a lot of tools. This area is protected by a double-pull zipper, the zipper prevents tools from spilling and also helps you organize them better.

What makes the WORKPRO 16″ special is the durability, it is made of double fabrics; 600D and 1680D polyester fabric. Both materials are known for durability and reliability. On top of that, it also has fine stitching which gives the tool a longer life.

Overall a great tool bag, it offers stability, durability, plus enough space for your tools. I use this bag a lot, and so far I’m impressed with it.

Pros:

  • 40+ Pockets – 30 inside, 10 outside, plus 6 more for pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Open-Mouth Design – Open space at the center of the bag where you can put your tools.
  • Zipper – The center of the bag is protected by a double-zipper.
  • Double Fabrics600D and 1680D polyester fabric plus a fine stitching gives the tool a longer life.
Cons:

  • To be added.

2. 20 Inch Waterproof Tools Bag

Best Features  20 Inch...

  • Heavy-Duty
  • Open-Mouth Design
  • Water Repellent

My Overall Rating

5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5)

If your job is tough and you need a heavy-duty tool bag that will not break no matter what then make sure to look at this one.  It comes with heavy-duty material and construction.

The tool bag is made of 1684D Oxford Cloth, the material is water repellent. Except for the material, a thing that I think makes this tool bag more durable is the stitching, it has heavy-duty double stitching plus the stress points have been over-stitched to make sure that the bag doesn’t get ripped.

As far as space goes, this bag has enough pockets. The pockets come in different sizes, this will help mostly if you use tools that have different sizes [ drill, pliers, etc].  This one too has an open-mouth design, I mostly use it to store the larger tools such as heat guns but you can also use it for smaller tools because it has enough space.  The center of the bag is protected by a zipper.

It comes with an adjustable shoulder strap to help you move around the bag when carrying heavier weights, and with an extra plastic padded handle when the weight is lighter.

Overall a great bag. I mostly use it when I have to carry larger tools such as my drill, heat gun, etc. The base of the bag is waterproof and abrasion-resistant which keeps the bag dry and clean.

Pros:

  • Open-Mouth Design – Open space at the center of the bag where you can put your larger tools
  • Durable – Made of water repellent 1684D Oxford Cloth
  • Stitching – Heavy-duty double stitching plus the stress points are over-stitched.
Cons:

  • Outside pockets are to shallow

3. AIRAJ 18-in

Best Features  AIRAJ 18-in...

  • 16 Pockets
  • Internal Metal Frame
  • HQ Handles

My Overall Rating

The AIRAJ comes with 16 pockets. 8 of the pockets are located inside and the other 8 are outside. But that’s not all, this one also has an open-mouth design at the top of the bag.

The open-mouth design has enough space for your power tools. The large open mouth comes with an internal metal frame that helps to keep your bag upright plus helps in organizing your tool. I usually use the center of the bag [ open-mouth ] to store my power tools and then I use the pockets to store my smaller tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, tape measures, etc, this helps me to keep my tool organized.

AIRAJ tool bag is also very durable, it is constructed with 680D polyester fabric. What makes this tool bag special is the handle area. The handles are reinforced with steel nails, the seams have also fine stitches which makes them more durable.  The base of the bag is built-in PE board and it’s also waterproof, keeping your tools clean and dry.

This is a good tool bag whenever you are a professional, home-owner, or you just need a bag for camping.

Pros:

  • Open-Mouth Design – The open-mouth comes with an internal metal frame that helps you organize your tools.
  • 16 Pockets – 8 inside and 8 outside.
  • Durable – Made of 680D polyester fabric
Cons:

  • I wish it had more pockets. But still 16 pockets are enough for most of us.

If you are looking for a lightweight tool bag that can carry a lot of tools then the KATA 16 Inch might be your perfect choice. This tool bag weights alone 2.5 pounds and it has a lot of space.

It comes with a total number of 16 pockets; 8 pockets inside and 8 outside. But it also comes with a pop-open design. The open-pop space has enough space to hold most of your power tools, it also features an internal metal frame that helps to keep the bag straight and not deformed and at the same time it also helps you to organize the tools easier.  The open-space: 16in X 11in X 9in.

The bag is made of 600D polyester fabric and it has double stitching.  Except for extra padded handle, it also comes with a shoulder strap to carry the bag easier or when you want your hand to rest.

Pros:

  • Open-Mouth Design – The open-space: 16in X 11in X 9in.

Cons:

  • Stress points are not over-stitched.

5.  Hi-Spec

Best Features  Hi-Spec Wide...

  • Thick Base
  • 23 Pockets
  • Big Mouth

My Overall Rating

5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5)

More detailed review ↴

The thing that makes Hi-Spec tool bag special is the height, the bag is 33cm [13-inches] high, and because it also has an open-space design at the top, this tool bag has enough space for all of my power tools. I can even fit my cordless jigsaw with a bunch of other large tools as well.  Obviously, at the top of the bag you have a zipper to protect your tools while moving.

The bag is designed to store your tools for both long and short terms.  Except for the open-space design, it also comes with pockets, overall it has 24 pockets, 10 inside pockets, and 14 outside pockets.

Like most of the tool bags, this one too is made of 600D Polyester.  It comes with a thick base that except for keeping the tool dry and clean I also noticed that it also prevents the bag from hard falls, mostly due to the molded covers at the bottom sides.

Pros:

  • 24 Pockets – 10 inner pockets and 14 outside.
  • Thick Base – Prevents the tool from hard falls
  • Big Mouth
Cons:

  • Sometimes I find it hard to close the zipper. Maybe it’s just me.

Things to consider before buying a waterproof tool bag?

If you already found the best fit for you then you can skip this part, just go order the bag you liked and enjoy your new waterproof tool bag. But if you still don’t know which one to pick then I will give you some tips to help you make a decision.

There are somethings that you need to consider before buying a tool bag that is waterproof.

Construction

The first thing you need to look into is if the tool bag is waterproof or not. But all of the bags we have listed have a waterproof base so you don’t have to worry about that. Another thing that you need to consider is the construction of the bag, you need a bag that won’t fall or doesn’t get bent easily.

A reason for that is because if you work on wet spaces then the chances of the bag spilling your tools are high.  The main reason for buying waterproof tool bags is to keep your tools inside dry and clean.

Open-Mouth Design

The open-mouth, big mouth, or however you call it is important. Most of the tool bags have it. And as you can see all the tools in our best waterproof tool bags list have it. That’s because it allows you to store more tools, I only use it for my power tools but you can use it for smaller tools too.  The open-mouth space will also keep your tools dry.

If you still don’t know which one to pick then just for the first in our list, which is ” WORKPRO 16″ “. There’s a reason why I listed it first.

Final Words

It is always important to have good tool bags. They protect your tools and helps you carry them easier.  The waterproof bags take it to another level, they keep the tools dry, which is extremely helpful especially if your job requires you to have dry tools such as electricians, etc. Although it is always recommended to check the tools if they are dry or not before using them.
