Usually, when you start to paint something depending on the object it takes a lot of time, sometimes hours. Now, if you use a spray gun that has a bad design for hours you will be tired very easily, your hands will hurt and it will take even more to complete the job. But having a good spray gun with a good design will make the job much easier and faster.

Usually, when I have to paint a big object or something that takes a lot of time, I use this model called “Astro EVOT13 EuroPro Forged”. It’s really lightweight and comfortable to use for hours. The “Air Curtain” design helps to minimize overspray and pollution, it also reduces paint consumption with a really great transfer efficiency.

Keep in mind that I have listed them starting from my favorite to my less favorite. But just because I haven’t listed some tools as #1 or #2 that doesn’t mean they are not high-quality or that they don’t do the job.

Another quality tool is this one called “SPRAYIT SP-33000K”. Like almost all quality paint sprayers, this one too comes with a really lightweight aluminum body that contains a 20oz/0.6L plastic cup.

Since this one comes with three different tips (1.3 & 1.5 & 1.7mm) I totally recommend it if you have to do different tasks. This one can be used for Industrial, wood, automotive and a lot of other things.

Like every other tool here this one is an LVLP too, you won’t need a big air compressor to make it work, this works perfectly with a small air compressor. It comes with a separate & adjustable fan pattern, fluid and for a precise application, it uses air control. This will help to spend less paint while working with it and allows you to spray larger objects and spaces without needing to stop to refill the paint.

The working pressure on this model is 25-45 PSI, and the maximum pressure is 60 PSI. It comes together with air regulator, plastic storage and a cleaning kit which will make the cleaning process really easy.

I know that seeing so many different models can really make it even more difficult to choose the one you actually need. I have tried to make it as easy as possible to describe the product and tell you about what did I use that exact product.

Another model that I use a lot is this one called “SPRAYIT SP-33500K LVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun Kit”. Actually, you will get two spray guns on this package, a mini spray gun, and a full-sized one. The body of both of them is made from aluminum and they are both lightweight.

The mini spray gun comes with a 120 cc plastic cup, and the full-sized one comes with a 20 oz./0.6 l plastic cup. The working pressure starts from 28 to 45 PSI, the maximum pressure goes as far as 60 PSI.

The mini spray gun comes with a 0.8mm nozzle, and the full-sized one ( or the big one ) comes with three different nozzles (1.3mm, 1.7mm, 2.0 mm)

If you are in a hurry here are the pros and cons of this tool!

  • The mini spray gun you get here is a little bit slow, but that’s only because of the LVLP nature!

#0 Ampro A6034 Low Volume Low Pressure LVLP Spray Gun

Have you ever had troubles while choosing the right nozzles and needles to put on your spray gun? If yes then this is the model you want. The color-coded nozzles will make it easy for you to know which nozzle are you choosing for your spray gun and helping you avoid spending 10 minutes trying different nozzles until you find the one you wanted.

It usually comes in two different colors

  • Red
  • Blue

The red one indicates nozzle option and 1.3mm needle, while the blue one indicates 1.7mm needle. Now, of course only because it has color-coded nozzles doesn’t mean that it’s a good spray gun, right? Of course, it doesn’t, but also that isn’t the only good feature that I like about this spray gun.

This set of products comes with 2 high-quality spray guns. Since I use them both every day I can guarantee you that they are really lightweight, each of them has 1-liter paint cup that is made from aluminum. It uses a really low volume of air that operates with the pressure that starts from 15 PSI to 45 PSI.

The design of this spray gun gives you the ability to control air volume, paint density and spray pattern really easy. The spray pattern can range from 7 to 11 inches.

Another thing I like about this model is that the cleaning is really easy. Usually, I just throw the paint that is left and just spray it with water spray, sometimes I use the brush to clean but with or without brush it usually takes 1 or 2 minutes to clean the spray guns

How many LVLP paint sprayers do I get?

This is probably the main reason I listed this as number one. You will get two paint sprayers and each will have 1 litter aluminum cup.

Can I use this for small tasks or big tasks?

A lot of people say that LVLP guns can be used only for small tasks. But I use them for small and big tasks, and they do the job. Now, this you get two different spray guns here (1,3 mm, 1.7mm) you can use the 1.3mm one for small tasks, and the 1.7mm for bigger tasks.

If you are in a hurry here are the pros and cons of this tool!

  • You get two spray guns
  • Color-Coded nozzles/needles
  • 1.33mm needle & 1.7mm needles
  • Easy Cleaning
  • Doesn’t need to much paint

  • Sometimes adjustment knobs are not smooth

LVLP Paint Sprayer Buyers Guide

There are cheap and expensive paint sprayers. And sometimes (not always) quality comes with a price. But, if you can't afford expensive paint sprayer then don't worry. Just make sure to read our post about the best lvlp spray guns for the money and you will find some good paint sprayers that don't cost a lot.Since there are a lot of different models this can be hard, but start asking yourself these questions which will make it easier for you to choose the one you need.

For what are you gonna use them?

Honestly, I think this is the most important question you need to ask your self before buying it. Seeing my top 5 you will realize that most of them are good for a lot of things, this will make it easier for you to choose if you are gonna use them to paint different things, such as your car, your motorcycle, your house doors.

Here are the things you should look when buying an LVLP spray gun:

As we have mentioned earlier on this post, LVLP models are not that fast. So in order to complete a job it may take a long time, depending on the object you are painting it may take even hours. So having a lightweight spray gun it will make it easier to work around the house without getting tired.

Almost all the models I have listed are really lightweight, and I have used them all to paint different things for hours. So before buying a spray gun make sure to check how much it weights because this can help you do your job faster or slower.

Overall almost all LVLP models are made from aluminum. Why? Because of the weight, as we all know that aluminum is not that heavy, and as we mentioned earlier is that you will need a lightweight spray gun if you tend to use them for hours. All of the model that we listed on this post are made from aluminum.

Why do people prefer the best LVLP paint sprayers?

Why do people prefer LVLP paint sprayer? Easy, because they use low pressure to provide low volume, they are small and have a lot of other different features that make them unique. If you decide to buy an lvlp spray gun then make sure to check our post about lvlp spray guns reviewYou are probably thinking that how can people use them if they are slow? First of all, they are not that slow. You can probably complete the job 20x faster than using roller paint.

But a lot of people prefer “Low-Pressure Low Volume” Spray Guns because of their quality of finish which tends to be smoother. Also, since they use lower amounts of pressure that means that lesser paint goes to waste. And once you are done they are really easy to clean.

Note: Learn here what types of paint you can use for your paint sprayers

Of course, probably the biggest reason people prefer LVLP guns instead of HVLP spray guns is the price. LVLP is really cheap if you compare them to HVLP ones.

There are two types of spray guns
Keep in mind that spray guns are not all the same, this will make it, even more, harder to choose the one you need but we will try to explain it on the best way so you can understand these two types.

  • Bleeder Spray Gun
  • Non-Bleeder Spray Gun

Bleeder Spray Gun: These type of spray guns will have a constant flow of air, regardless if you are pulling the trigger or not. This is will help the drying process to be faster. Also, there’s less chance that the cap will clog.

Non-Bleeder Spray Gun: This is a more “famous” type. This is the opposite of the other type, because once you release the trigger then the air will stop. Which will provide more control over what comes out of the gun. But, with this type the chances that the cap will clog are high.

LVLP spray guns can be

  • Siphon feed
  • Gravity feed

The difference between these two is that the gravity feed has its cup on the top and requires less air pressure, and the siphon-feed has its cup underneath and it’s more like an old-school painter.

What are LVLP spray guns?

If you want to use LVLP spray guns for painting projects then its good to find the best LVLP paint sprayer, because not only it will save you a lot of money but the color quality of these types of spray guns is just great! As you can see in the pic the blue color from this LVLP spray gun is really quality and I recommend it!

Now, this type of spray guns needs a lower amount of air in order to work. Because there is a low volume that means it needs lower CFM. And the lower volume and lower CFM can be done by a small air compressor.I know the letters “LVLP” can be very confusing and you may be thinking about what they mean, but these letters mean “Low Volume Low Pressure”. So an “LVLP spray guns” is a ” Low Volume Low-Pressure spray gun’. Since these letters make sense now it’s easier to understand how these type of spray guns work.

The “Low-Pressure Low Volume ” Spray guns use around 3 or 4 CFM.

A “Low-Pressure Low Volume” spray gun is probably the most common thing you see on a workshop or on a garage. They are basically used for painting, but they are mostly used for small tasks like painting your doors, bathroom vanities and a lot of other small tasks. They can be used for bigger tasks as well, but it will take a longer time to complete in comparison to a bigger spray gun such as “HVLP” ones.

Can I use LVLP spray gun for latex paint?

Yes, I have used them a lot of time, and the color quality is just great!
